ATHENS, Greece (AA) – Unidentified people hurled hand grenades at the Russian Consulate in Athens, security sources said Friday.
No one was injured during the attack, the sources said, who asked not to be named due to restriction on speaking to media.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Greek Foreign Ministry also confirmed the attack, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
"The attack that occurred today in the courtyard of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Russia in Athens is unacceptable. We absolutely condemn It," Foreign Minister Georgios Katrougalos said through his ministry's twitter account.
