Southern California Turkish Community Celebrated the 89 th Anniversary of the Republic at the ATASC Republic Day Ball

More than 200 members of Turkish American Community and friends of Turkey came together at Long Beach to celebrate the 89th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. Turkish Consul General Aydin Topcu and his staff were there as well as the Mayor Jim Dear of Carson. The event opened with National Anthems and short speches reminding all the importance of the Republic ideals and principles and the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
Dinner continued to the soft violin music of Dr. Ilhan Sami Ozulu.  After dinner, the crowd danced with his wide repertoire of Turkish dance music. The climax was the patriotic songs and marches where all joined in to show their solidarity and love of motherland. This will be remembered as one of the most joyful Republic Ball Events.
