ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey topped the 21st Balkan Taekwondo Championships 2019 in senior and youth categories with a total of 31 medals.

The 21st Balkan Taekwondo Championship was held in Samokov, Bulgaria on Sept. 13-15 in which some 753 Taekwondo players from nine countries participated in the tournament.

In the championship, Turkish senior and youth teams won 15 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals in total.

Turkey claimed 6 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals in senior category and 9 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals in youth category.

The Turkish medalists are as follows:

Gold medals: Abdullah Omer Yarli (Senior 54 kg), Onur Mese (Senior 58 kg), Seydi Vakkas Dagdelen (Senior 74 kg), Melih Yilmaz (Senior 80 kg), Sahin Celebi (Senior +87 kg), Gulse Polat (Senior 57 kg), Merdan Calik (Youth 45 kg), Yunus Can Akkoyun (Youth 59 kg), Aleyna Demir (Youth 42 kg), Melisa Yalcin (Youth 44 kg), Sine Surucu (Youth 46 kg), Zeynep Taskin (Youth 49 kg), Elif Ilgin Oztabak (Youth 52 kg), Huriye Nur Ergin (Youth 63 kg), Ayselnur Saglik (Youth +68 kg)
